Weekend Mani: Sinful Shine - My Kryptonite & Zoya - Vega

Happy Friday Sugars!

Today I am showing you the mani I currently have on my nails. It's not everyday I get to blog about the nail polish on my hands, but today, I'm able!

I have been in love with blues, blue greens, and colors in the blue family lately...
I chose this gorgeous Aqua Blue? by Sinful Shine - My Kryptonite  and did an accent nail with Zoya - Vega

My Kryptonite is such a glossy polish without topcoat and I love the application so MUCH!

Zoya - Vega is a textured beauty!

I decided to matte-fy my mani by using Hard Candy Matte Topcoat. And I was even more in love!

Check out the sparkle in Zoya - Vega!

Yes, Matte for the win!

Hard Candy matte Topcoat dried in good timing!

I am so used to glossy manis, but this matte mani is DEFINITELY giving me all sorts of life! It's gonna be a good weekend y'all.

Answer me this please? DO you like matte manis? Or are you a glossy or nothing type of girl?

That's it for now.
Take care!
Till later, God Bless.

Post Publish EDIT: I realized that this mani match an OOTD I wore to a wedding and posted on the blog some weeks ago!!!

Wheelchair Fashion: Chevron Tights and Aqua Blue Dress...

 Hello Everybody!
Hope y'all are feeling mighty fine today?!

Today's post is an ootd, and I'm mostly blogging this because of the tights I'm wearing. lol.
This was my birthday dress last year and I wore it to church last Sunday for the first time since my birthday.

Ladies ladies ladies, why do we take so long to repeat outfits?
Oh wait, I know the answer... Because we don't want to be tagged in the same outfit twice on facebook! Hahaha... Or in my case, because I don't want to blog about the same dress twice. But ALAS, I'm breaking the rules! Rationalizing it however, the last time this was posted, pictures were taken at night and in the dark. So this time, you get daylight pictures!

P.S: I don't really care about blogging one outfit more than once, but my subconscious kinda cares... Lol

Before I continue, I must ask, what color do y'all think this dress is? Some swear it's green, some say blue, but I see Aqua Blue and that's what I'm sticking with. lol.. (I'm not the best judge of colors though), but I couldn't think of a better title for this post!

I love how this dress flows and looks with a belt cinching my waist line!
(Excuse my photog for putting her shadow in  some of my pictures).

Today, I'll walk you through my poses with captions. lol..

The Pose for the camera now, Click Click Click Pose.

The mandatory Looking Down Picture. lol...
This is also The Skillfully using my hands to keep my legs together Pose.

The Feigning tiredness/are we done yet? Pose. Lol..

The Oh me? Why Yes I can look cute while not looking at the camera pose. lol..
This is also The Showing my nails and accessories pose.

Ditto the above caption. lol..
Oh and this is also the Show you my hair and makeup pose. :-)

The Candid Shot. Which is usually about 90% of the pictures taken during any given photo session. I can never keep a straight face. lol..
Some Candids turn out cute, while others are a  nightmare. Lol.. And of course you will never see those.. *cricket sounds*...

The Oh No! sun in my eyes pose.
Also the Keep my legs crossed so I don't have to flash the world my goodies pose. Lol..

Alright, That's all the poses I have for you all today. lol..
Hows about an up close look at my Chevron Tights?

And a black and white picture to end it... just because!
P.S: I love it when my spasms occasionally kick in during a picture, makes my legs look toned and makes it look like I intended to position my legs in such a poised and classy manner as seen below.

Alright sugars.
That's it for now!
DO you guys add pretty little details to plain outfits like I did with my Chevron tights and belt?

Till Later, God Bless.

P.S: Thanks to you all for your kindness and sweet comments/emails every so often! Most of you have expressed how you enjoy my OOTD/Wheelchair Fashion posts, and I'm gonna at least try to take pictures of my Sunday OOTDs for the blog. Other minor ootds can be found on my instagram page @thediylady.
OOTD = outfit of the day.

Personalized Polish Names? "Pretty Please" Makes it Possible: Swatches and Review

Hello lovers and friends!
How are y'all doing today?

OH I'm so excited and happy about this post!
I personally named these polishes in today's post MYSELF and I even chose one to be named after me, well my blog!

How many of you have ever wanted to name a polish? It was my dream for the longest and when I got the opportunity to, I jumped AT IT!

And hey, guess what? You can too! Yes yes yes! You too can name any polish of your choice whatever you want right now! But wait, finish reading this post first!

The polishes you see below are named "Orange you TheDIYLady", and "Blinging all the way" by Pretty Please Polish.

Look at these beauties in their bottles!

How in the heck did I get to name polishes you ask?
Ohh, I'll tell you all about it!

So, Pretty Please Polish is a nail polish brand that allow customers to name a polish of their choice/color/finish!
Here's what they say..
Pretty Please thinks it’s time to get personal. That’s why we create customized nail polish just for you! You select a shade you love and give it your own unique name.
You can name your nail polish for a milestone, bachelorette party, birthday party, baby naming, fund raiser, sorority function, company event, and the list goes on!
The idea is to take something you love (nail polish!) and make it your own; something you can’t buy in a store. We believe it's the gifts with a personal touch that get noticed and treasured.
What will your nail polish say?

The Polishes came in a pretty box like this.

I chose to pair both polishes together in this mani.

Application was wonderful on the glitter, but the orange certainly required patience!

Overall, I am so happy and impressed with these polishes!

I'm looking forward to naming polishes for so many events y'all!
Just being able to name a polish makes me extremely happy!
Now that you know its completely possible to do it too.... How about you head on over to Pretty Please Polish Website and get to work!

Do you love the polishes I chose and my name for them?
I was way too excited and couldn't think! lol... Now I think I might have gone with different names, BUT I am still excited!

P.S: Check out these Cute Ideas from Pretty Please Instagram page!
Oh I'm in love with the idea of personalizing nail polishes.

That's it for now loves.
Till later, God bless.

Swatches and Review: Zoya Naturel Collection

Oh hi there!

More nail swatches for you all today!
I present Zoya Naturel Collection.

A fresh and natural collection! Palette Cleanser extraordinaire!

This collection offers nudes and subtle soft creams.
They have a pink undertone and I love that because it makes them look good against my skin tone. Two coats was used in all of my swatches. No topcoat as I generally love to show polishes like this in their natural state (pun intended). lol...

 Alright, let's get to it.

First up is Zoya - Brigitte

Here's Zoya - Chantal

I didn't like the formula on this though. A bit runny and hard to work with. I had to do so much clean up and still it didn't look decent. It would have been a good "nude" if the formula was nice though.

Next is Zoya - Normani
It's more grey in person but has a pink/purple undertone.

Here you see the gray a bit more. But the purple still shows through...

Here's Zoya - Taylor

Like Chantal, I had issues with application on this one.

Next is Zoya - Odette.
Oh Hi there purple looking beauty!

Y'all know I love my purples! This was a dream to apply! And I love it on me so much!

Last but not the least is Zoya - Rue.
Oh I love this so much! My kind of neutral nail polish! Baby Pink gorgeousness!

So, darlings... what do you all think?
I am pleased with these, but the formula on the two brown/cream colors (Taylor, and Chantal) didn't make me happy.
They were runny and just aren't my style.

Love what you see?
Head on over to www.zoya.com to get them!

Neutrals not really your thing but you love bling-tas-tic and glittery polishes?
Check out my swatches of Zoya's Magical Pixie Dusts Collection.

P.S: If like me, you've seen swatches of this collection a couple of times, and wondered why the polishes look different on different people, I have come to the conclusion that it's because the polishes have powers to adapt to the skin tone of the wearer. Lol.. No other explanation. I was almost wondering if I got the right collection based on how they looked on me, and how I'd seen them on some other bloggers. Whatever the case though, they look beautiful and that's the ultimate conclusion.

Till later, God bless.

Swatches and Review: Zoya Magical Pixie Dust Collection - Spring 2014

Howdy folks!
Hope y'all are doing extremely well on this hump day!

I am over the moon about today's post!
When I got these babies, I had to have each of them on my nails as though my life depended on it. When I saw promo pictures by Zoya, I thought, oh CUTE!!! In person they're double the awesomeness!

The bottles had me saying Yaaaaaassss!!! Then when I started swatching, I decided I'd becompletely fine if I never owned any other nail polishes.
Dang, I can be extreme right? We all know I'll keep collecting nail polishes. Who am I kidding? But I digress...

I present to you guys Zoya's Magical Pixie Dust Collection for Spring 2014!

These polishes are perfection in a bottle and I absolutely LOVE them equally!

To avoid repeating myself several times, I'll say all I have to say now, and then let you enjoy the picture spam below!

Application was lovely. Because these are textured polishes, they were a bit on the thick side but not impossible to work it. I loved them in their textured state, but fell deeper in love with two coats of clear top coat layered over them. Topcoat used was Seche Vite.
The glitters, shimmer and holos in these polishes make them beyond amazing.

First up is this silver glitter/sparkly bomb.
Zoya - Cosmo

Next up is the sweet blue.
