Wheelchair Fashion: Black and White Polka Dot OOTD

Howdy peoples!
Hope y'all are having a fab day so far!
It's an ootd post on the blog today and this is pretty much how I look on days I don't have time to get dressed up but also don't want to look like I jumped straight out of bed. lol...

Black easy to wear pants and then I get any kind of top on it!
On this day, I was running late for church and I still wanted to look decent to my father's house, so I made the quick decision to wear this.
There was NO time for makeup, so powder, little bit of eyebrow filling in and lip gloss was all I had to work with.

Since I had minimal makeup, I threw on my nerdy glasses from Firmoo to distract from my almost naked face. lol...

Thankfully, the night before, I had my hair in braids, so when I loosened it that morning, I had some waves in my hair and I dashed out the house because I had to be in church on time (as a choir member). LOL.

Full outfit!

Noo.. I didn't magically lift my left leg up on my own... Spasms/Tone did that. It confuses people so much when my legs start to lift or shake on their own.

The sun was out to shine on my skin and I LOVED it!
My shoes are so comfortable, I love them. They were my first pair of high heel shoes after the car accident. When I learned that wedges were comfortable on the wheelchair footplate and kept my feet balanced, I was HAPPY and so I began to wear wedged heels on the wheelchair.

Do you notice the slight purple at the base of my hair? No?
Well it's kinda there. I found a product called "Hot Hues" at Walgreens and I wanted to try it out, since it's pretty much hair chalk. When I used it, the color was very evident in my hair, but as the day went on, the color sorta kinda flaked off. lol... And stained my shirt a little bit.
I'll try to do a review on the product in another post.

I was caught taking a selfie. Yes I was really caught. lol.. This was kind of after we paused with the photo session. This is my angle when I use the front facing camera on my phone. LOL...
My glasses from firmoo really had me feeling extra hawwwtt! lol... Yes to glasses that distract from no makeup faces.

I see you!

Do you like the waves I got by braiding my hair?

We had taken all of the pictures before I thought I could have used lipstick. lol... I still got some shots anyway.
Imagine how different my look changed just by using lipstick. Now I know another no time for makeup trick. USE lipstick!

When I have dark lippies on, I don't smile though.. Lol.. I mostly pull faces like these...

That's it for now y'all.. Peace OUT!!!

As always, ask any questions, leave a comment, share with me what you do on you no time for makeup but still want to look decent days. I'd love to hear! AND remember, a lipstick certainly transforms ones look!

Who is Lupita Nyong'o and Why Do People Like Her?!

Hello World.

Today, I have a different kind of post on the blog. Yes, I'm talking Hollywood, I'm blabbing about Lupita Nyong'o. Don't know her? Well, she's so many things to so many people, but technically, she's an actress of Kenyan origin who was born in Mexico.
She became "Popular" after her role in  Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave  as Patsey.

More importantly, she became really huge after some public appearances in outfits that looked ready-made from God himself in heaven when he sent her to earth.
Think I'm exaggerating? CLICK HERE to catch a glimpse.
She is also the new "It Girl" in Hollywood.

Now that you know who Lupita Nyong'o is (to a certain level), I shall move on to the next question, WHY IN THE HECK OF ALL HECKS DO PEOPLE LIKE HER?!

Well, there are so many ways I can answer this question, but I'll just start off by saying, she certainly hasn't brought world peace, or the cure of AIDS/Cancer to mankind. BUT, with as much buzz as is around her and her name, you can't tell those who love her that she isn't the best thing since rice and beans. They love her and that's pretty much all they will say... ohhh, wait, they'll also tell you that she's been nominated for so many awards, she's a great actress, she dresses amazingly, she has such a beautiful skin that they wouldn't mind eating off of, and that she exudes something they can't put into words but could be elegancesophistication, realness, and enjoying being in one's own skin

That being said, I must let you know that based on my vague research online and thoroughly looking through the hashtag #LupitaNyongo on Instagram, it's evident that a lot of the people that are in love with her, chopping her dodo and drinking her cool-aid haven't EVEN SEEN the movie that put her on the map - 12years A Slave. Majority don't know how it started, and they don't know nada about her life, but they swear she's the best thing since they ate fries with honey mustard (something you should try if you haven't already).

Think I'm joking? Go to her page on Instagram, you'll see strangers defending and fighting battles that doesn't "coin-sign" (concern) them. I personally sat down one night and was educating my Le boo of life (the Boyfriend) on how amazing I think she is. He was like "you haven't even seen her movie"! To which I replied and I sternly said that's not the point. Lol.

After our conversation that ended by me pretty much saying Lupita can do no wrong, I sat down and asked myself, ok Lizzy, what is it you really like about this girl? Is it because she has a good PR team that ensures she's in your face all the time (looking like a bag of money with that glowing skin of hers)? Is it because she's of African origin like you and you're kind of proud and happy for her? Is it because she went to Yale?
Surely there are many girls in my village that look like her. Why are they not stars?

When I was done with my soul searching and shrinking myself on why on earth I love Lupita Nyong'o, I came to the conclusion that me, like many others, don't really have a valid reason why we love her. We say we like her style, but if some of us dare to wear some of the clothes she wears, we'll be sent to yaba left (a place for people who really have NO idea what they're doing)

Bottom line of this epistle is this: People like Lupita Nyong'o because IT'S HER TIME TO SHINE. She's the perfect example of the phrase "When it's your time to shine, NO ONE can hinder your light".

There's a time and season for everyone, and right now, it's Lupita's time. I wish her nothing but continued success.

I want to know, Do You Like Lupita?
What exactly do you like about her?

Thanks for visiting...I Hope you like this kind of post. I'll get back to regular scheduling soon...
Please don't over analyze what I've written.... It a continuation of a post I made on my Instagram page... I was cajoled into writing a blog post about it, and I did.

That's it for now Loves,
Till Later, God Bless.

Wear your heart on your nails: Making Heart Shapes with dotting tool

Hello Darlings.

Today I have a mani I created by playing around.
This wasn't planned and I was just trying to see how well I'd do using a dotting tool to make heart shapes on my nails.
I loved the result enough to blog about it, so here ya go. Lol...

This was done a while back and I found it in my sd card and figured, Oh yeahhhhhhh BLOG POST!!
My nails are currently short and doesn't make me happy.. so I haven't done any blog worthy nail polishing...

I used all sinful colors polishes for this mani.
My base (light purple) is called Uhmmm can't remember...
The accent nail (ring finger) base is Leather Loose and it naturally dries matte/suede
And the heart shapes were made with Sugar and spice

I added a top coat on my ring finger. Really shows you another side of Loose Leather.

And then i added some more heart shapes on my middle finger. I did all these with dotting tool by the way.

This was pretty easy and simple and I couldn't be happier...
Hope y'all are doing very well.

Till later, God bless. :-)

Wheelchair Fashion: Little White Dress?

Hello Everybody...

Feels good to be blogging today. Yes I took a mini break y'all. Break from all the nail polish fumes, and all the nail polish removers, and all the blogging stuffs. BUT I think I'm back.

And I bring to you all a wheelchair fashion outfit of the day!
I love dresses and y'all know every time I wear a short dress, I have to wear tights with it, cos I don't want to flash my goodies to the world in front of me as I push the wheelchair. lol...

This white dress I'm wearing in today's post captured my heart because of the details on the upper front part of it. Details that ended up not showing in most of my pictures because of the outdoor lighting.
But here is a bit of it before we get into more pictures.
My necklace is a one piece. A bit heavy. lol...

The joy I feel when taking pictures, I have to try really hard to keep a straight face. lol.. I stay talking, laughing, and making weird faces.

Though it was a bit chilly outside when I took these pictures, I braved it out...

Hair!!! Reviewed in THIS POST.
Waves/curls were gotten with Kor Hair Curling wand, and I brushed the curls out to turn them to waves.

Smile! Pose!

More dress details...

As always a gazillion pictures were taken...  When I couldn't take the cold anymore, I threw my jacket on. Love this Jacket - first because it's purple, and second because it's fashionable. I must say it's kind of pain cos it's Heavy.

I saw a meme about why women look at the ground when taking pictures and how it needs to stop in 2014. LMBO... I know I do it a lot, but it's the only way I can keep a serious face. AND I am not stopping any time soon, despite what that meme said. Lol..

And that's it y'all.  Stay joyful, make a silly face, and pose for a camera!

As always, thanks for visiting!
I hope your 2014 is going great so far.

Lots of love and hugs.
Until next time, God Bless.
