My Very First Skittlette Mani...

 Hello World!

It's Friday and I have my very first skittlette mani to show you all.
I have never intentionally done one of these before, and I've been wanting to do one for the longest time.
After so many times seeing the lovely Marta over at ChitChatNails do it in different styles, I HAD to finally create one. Because I just loved the look so much.

Basically, A Skittlette Mani is having Two or More "Accent nails". - I think. Lol...

Here's what I came up with.

My main color was Sinful Colors - Orange  Cream (From their sugar rush collection).
Ring Finger: I used Zoya - Raven as the black and a dotting tool with the Sinful Colors.
Middle Finger: SC as base and Kleancolor - Black to stamp  (With Cheeky GALS Plate GA3).
Index Finger: I used some rhinestone studs I had lying around.
And Then Sealed it all with Seche Vite.

After I got done and sealed it all with Topcoat. I got the craziest Idea to Matte-fy the mani. SO I went ahead and did just what my brain suggested. lol...

I Used Butter London's Matte to matte-fy everything including the rhinestones. And That worked perfectly even though I thought it wouldn't. I thought the stones would be ruined, but they looked fine.

I don't know about you darlings, But I Love this Much More Matted!

And since I took A GAZILLION pictures... Enjoy!!

Oh, Here's my Rhinestone wheel, By Cheeky - You can get it on Amazon.

And since I loved my four fingers so much, I went ahead to make this a full mani. I couldn't bear to Swatch and Clean this off. Look at what I did with my thumb? Dotticure of a heart. :-D
I'm definitely gonna enjoy this mani on my nails for a couple of days.

Sorry about the Awkward hand pose, But I could NOT for the life of me figure out another more appealing way to get my thumb in the picture. Lol. I am not as flexible with my fingers since its a Miracle that they're even THIS functional - Thanks to Lots of Occupational and Physical Therapy - after the car accident.

Anyhoo, That's it for my first Skittlette.
Be as mean or nice as you want.. Honestly Tell me, What do you think?
I asked for it so give it to me darlings.
Do you like the glossy or Matte Best?
Do you like these kind of manis, or do you prefer the traditional "Make them all the same, or only one accent nail" manis?

Looking forward to reading your comments.

  1. Very cute! And yes, Skittlette or Skittles just means every nail is different. It makes sense if picture a manicure with each nail painted a different rainbow color, which I'm assuming is how the name started!

I used to always do all 10 of my nails the same, but the more I paint them, that is starting to feel a little plain. Lately I've been doing more accent nails or Skittles.

  3. I love accent nails, it all started with a manicure I saw in the movie The Fifth Element. Navy blue on all but pointer and middle, if I remember right. Those were painted a tomato red.
