January Nail Mails/Nail Hauls (Picture Spam)

Hello fabulous beings...

Hope you're doing fine today?
A while back I stated that I would try as much as I can to combine my nail mails/hauls into one post at the end of each month. Well, these are majority of the things I got this month of January.

*Opens eyes wide*.. *Giggles*.. SO MUCH GOODIES!!

First up is my Sally's beauty Supply Haul.
I got a new bottle of Seche Vite and Sally's was having a "Buy one Seche Vite, get a free China Glaze" Sale, so I picked up China Glaze's Up all Night. Then The Orly Shinning Star was on sale, so I got it too. Picked up the three Finger Paints I really wanted even though my Sally's had all five, I wanted only these three (Twisted, Asylum and Flecked). Pure acetone just because I read somewhere that it does something.. lol.. and some nail art brushes for my Acrylic Polishes I got during Christmas.
All These were less than $15. WIN! All hail the power of couponing! Lol..
left to right: Seche Vite, China Glaze - Up all night, Orly - shinning star, finger paints - twisted, motley, asylum, 10 pc. Nail art brush set. Pure acetone.

Next up is my real Julep penny box. The one I thought was my penny box, was actually the January box.
Left to Right: Julep Chloe, Helena, Kim and Fast dry Top Coat

Next up.... This is actually not a January Purchase. I got this during my Christmas haul on ebay, but it got here in January. They are two-way nail art pens.

I used some of these, and I think I like them, but there are way too many.. lol.. Each of these comes with a pen tip and a brush.

Then, a Friend of mine gave me an Amazon gift card, so I decided to get some much needed dotting tools. The description on this said each dotting tool was a different size, but when I got mine, they were all the same size at both ends. One end was larger than the other end, and all 5 were like that. I called amazon CS, and they refunded my gift card, but told me I could keep the dotting tools. Another WIN!!

Next up are some polishes I got from ULTA. I was in Ulta with a friend of mine, and my friend paid for these! Yet another WIN! They are Ulta's Exclusive Holiday polishes.
China Glaze: Mistletoe Me!, Fireside Glow (holo), and Ultamate Holiday (Holo).

Boy, This is getting longer and Longer... Maybe this combined post was a bad Idea? Lol...
Up next is a Polish I got FREE from Color Club's Facebook Page. Every Friday, Color Club has this thing where they post a bottle of nail polish and people have to guess what it is. I guessed right, and got the polish I guessed. This is called De-Luxe-Cious. Look at the pretty box it came in.

Color Club - De-Luxe-Cious

These are two polishes I forgot to photograph with the others. The Revlon is from Ulta, and the Sally Girl is from Sallys.
Revlon Temptress, Sally Girl Simple.

I also satisfied my lemming of Orly's Fowl Play. Picked it up on eBay cheap.
Orly Fowl Play.

Next up is my order from Zoya!!! I Loves me some Zoya!!

I lucked out on these. Remember the Last Zoya Promo? Get two polishes free, pay shipping? Well, I didn't want to pay shipping so I decided to sit it out. When the new polishes from the True Collection were available for purchase/pre-order, the promo code was still working, so I decided to try it since I would pay shipping for the polishes in the True Collection anyway. Well it turned out that when I used the promo code, it gave me shipping free, my two polishes (Ki and Codie) were free too. I only ended up paying for the other four polishes I picked from the True Collection! Another WIN!
Zoya: Ki, Tru, Skylar, Maisie, Chloe, and Codie

These were my favs from the True Collection by Zoya. I'm not crazy about having "complete collections". I only get the polishes I like. :-)

And I Saved the best for last here... Ohhh boy... I'm excited about this one... lol...
The Lovely Jess at LuvMyLacquer sent me the most AWESOME Nail mail EVER!!!
A while ago, I helped her to name one of her franken Pink Aurora, and she said she would make a ring with the nail polish and send it to me. I was so excited because as gorgeous as Pink Aurora was, I knew it would make for lovely polish jewelry.
Interestingly and surprisingly, Jess included one of the polishes I've been Lemming and have searched EVERYWHERE for! Revlon's Whimsical is a dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Glitter in the air and ever since I set my eyes on the polish, I've searched everywhere for her. Whenever I did find her, she was way too expensive and although I wanted the polish, I wasn't willing to shed too much money for it. Well, It was Super Heroine Jess to the rescue on this one! She sent me the lovely ring, Whimsical and some other lovely goodies! The nail art stickers are my first, so I'm pretty excited! And as a nurse, I just love the Hand Sanitizer.. lol..

Needless to say, The candies were gone quick! My little brothers and I devoured them. lol.. Yummm!

Here's an up-close look at my new baby Whimsical!
Revlon Whimsical

And take a look at this beautiful ring!!! Pink Aurora is a beauty! Jess even used a purple base for the polish. The purple doesn't really show, but in the right light, it pops!

Yes, another picture of the ring... I love it! Thanks a bunch Jess :-)

My Stickers and another picture of the gorgeous heart shaped ring!! SO Valentine's day Appropriate. Speaking, Of valentine's day, and gifts... Jess is having a giveaway on her blog, so be sure to check it out and enter for a chance to win some lovely Zoya Polishes.

And Here's the Lovely Note She wrote me. Such Pretty handwriting! And Awww... Peace, Love and Nail Polish? I love that, and I see myself saying that now. Lol...

PHEWWWW.... That's it for all the things I've gotten. This month was good to me. Lol.. I still have some goodies that haven't gotten here yet, but I'm kind of glad for that. Any more polishes in this post and I'll be tagged "the crazy polish lady". lol...

Anyhoo, I decided to do this "Monthly nail mail/nail haul post", so that I don't have so many posts on my blog about nail mails. It sounded like a good idea then, but now, I don't know... maybe I'll just post things as I get them? I get so anxious to show you guys the beauties I get, and I don't think I can tolerate the waiting any longer. Lol... I was waiting for some mails before I make this post, but after getting my package from Jess, I couldn't wait any longer and I had to make this post. lol... I'm so excited to own the beautiful ring, and whimsical.

So, I have a question for my lovely readers. Do you prefer the combined "nail mail/nail haul" post, or should I just post things as I get them? The Ultimate decision is still mine, but I would love to read your opinions.

P.S: Uhmmm... Seeing as I'm a very good girl *coughs*, and I have Awesome readers (OMG! Almost 100 followers), I picked up some goodies for you guys too, and as soon as I get to the 100 followers mark, a giveaway will be coming your way!! Ohh Yes darlings... You'll love some of the awesome goodies I have for you! How does an international giveaway sound?
I'm sitting pretty as I paint my nails to get to that 100 mark. ;-)

Thanks for reading. Till Later, God bless.

A Twisted Fowl Play?

Why Yes it is!

I'm sure most of you have heard about Fowl Play by Orly. It's from the Birds of a feather collection, and ever since I saw it, I wanted it. I got it at a very reasonable price while "window shopping" on ebay.

I also picked up some of the new flakies by Finger Paints, and one of them is called Twisted. A lot of you have seen swatches of Fowl Play, and most of you have seen swatches of Twisted over black nail polish. So, instead of boring you with the same kind of combos over and over again, I decided to layer Twisted over Fowl Play. The result? A TWISTED FOWL PLAY. A.K.A, Flakie shimmery goodness.  lol..

Not much talking needed here, so let's get to it. :-)

And Just so you'll see what a big difference Twisted made, Here's Fowl Play alone...

And for good measure, Here's a Video.. :-)

Thanks for viewing. Till Later, God bless.

How to know if you're a nail polish addict...

Hello Ladies!

Have you ever wondered if you're a nail polish addict Collector?
Think you're alone?
Would you feel better if I told you there are many more like you?
Well, if you've EVER said/done any of the things in the video I'm about to show you, then, you, my friend, are a nail polish addict Collector. Lol..

Quick story on how I came by this video: I was on one of my facebook groups last night and I saw this and couldn't stop laughing. I immediately thought of sharing this with you fabulous ladies.

Enjoy this video my dearies.

I am not a fan of curse words (in reference to the video title), but I think this lady is hilarious.
Of course I have no idea what she's talking about! Who says any of those things she said? What does buy one get one free mean? And Oh dear, who picks up a polish every time they go into a drugstore? I have NO idea what she's talking about... But then again, They say Denial is the first stage right?

hahahaha..... *covers face*... I'm guilty of some of these.
Are you guilty? Do you have more to add? I'd love to hear other things you say.. lol...

One of my all time favorite is: I'm not a nail polish addict, I'm just a nail polish collector. Lol..
Share yours with me my dears.

Till Later, God Bless.

Inspired: Black and Silver

Hello Ladies!

Hope y'all are doing well on this fine day?
My Nails for Today were Inspired by the lovely Bregje over at Oooh Shinies! Two days ago, while I was making my frequent "Blog rounds", I came across this post by Bregje and just fell in love!
I immediately wanted the design on my nails! As a classic Do It Yourself Lady, I was so glad I had the RA plates and I got to work. I was tempted to use different colors for my mani, but there was something extra special about the Black and Silver that I just didn't have the heart to use other colors.

Here's my version of the Black and Silver mani. Be nice ladies.. :-)

Oopsie, too much cuticle oil/hand cream here.. Makes me wanna say Ooooh Shinies! Lol... (Get it?)

I Just love this design on the RA plate 106. Bregje had good eyes to pick this one out. I didn't even notice it!
The Black nail Polish I used is by Ruby Kisses, and the Silver is Wet n Wild Metallica.

Does this design remind you of some sort of optical illusion?

Forgive me for the picture spam, But I am so excited about this mani. Needless to say, It's still on my nails, and I'll be rocking this for 3 days or so... (So help me Lord). lol.. It's too cute for me to just clean off right away. I better dig in my picture folder and see if I have some "unposted manis" so I'll have something to post for these next couple of days.

Special Thanks to the amazing Bregje for this inspiration.
Here's a quick story about Bregje: Oooh, Shinies! was the first nail blog I added to my web browser's bookmark! Bregje's website was my secret obsession way way way before I decided to start my own blog. I know Bregje doesn't know me personally, but her blog has a lot to do with my love for nail polish/nail art most especially stamping! I learned about Konad from her blog, and I remember spending hours on amazon, eBay, and other websites just to get the best deal on Konad! Lol...
I eventually got a deal on eBay for my first plate (m57), a black Konad special polish, a stamper and a scraper!
Boy was I happy when I got my mail! I had a hard time at first, but I always went back to look at Bregje's pictures, and I told myself "you can do this Lizzy"!

Bregje is a queen at stamping! Always so perfect and her color combinations are beyond amazing! I truly am glad that I finally re-created something she made. Thanks for the inspiration Bregje. Keep doing what you do! I'm forever a fan. Honestly!

Alrighty then ladies... That concludes my post for today! I hope you enjoy this mani as much as I do! Even my boyfriend said it was "cool"! It looks way better IRL. If you have this RA plate, please use it... lol.. You will love the result!

Till Later my lovelies. God Bless. :-)

Finger Paints - Asylum

Hello darlings...

The week has officially begun now. I hope you all had a wonderful MLK day yesterday!

Today, I have Finger Paints Asylum  to show you. I showed you Julep's Chloe yesterday. Well, I decided to layer Asylum over Chloe and I couldn't be happier with the result!

Please excuse my really short pinky nails. I got too excited while filing my nails, and now it's extra short (the pinky).

Look at these lovely colors in Asylum.

A slightly darker picture to show you more of the awesome flakie-ness.

I really like Asylum, and can't wait to try Twisted. I might use a lighter base for Twisted, but these darker bases just make the flakies pop out so well!

Also, I'm expecting quite a number of nail mails. Boy! The things I get... both free and paid for! Sheeeshhh...
I see a "no buy" coming up in my near future.
Do "No buys" work for you guys? Do you have a budget or just get what you want? I'd love to hear from you, so please share with me.

Thanks for reading. Till Later, God bless. :-)

Julep - Chloe

Happy Martin Luther King's day!

I hope you're enjoying this general holiday? Everyone loves a long weekend right?

Today I have another one of my Julep polishes to show you. It's called Chloe. It has a black base and some magenta/red micro-glitters inside of it. I absolutely love this polish because it's not just Jet Black, but has some hint of sparkle.

This was opaque in two coats. The first coat was streaky, but the second coat evened it out.

I tweaked my camera's setting a bit so you can see the micro-glitters I was talking about... See how a black polish goes from "mehhhh" to... "ooohhhh la-la".. Lol.. I love it!

Here's a close up look at it again...

As if my close ups weren't enough, I decided to make a video of this polish, just because... I can.. lol..

Thanks for viewing ladies. Till Later. God Bless...

Feeling Blue?

Hello lovelies..

Happy Sunday!
This is just a quick post about a blue polish I wore a couple of days ago. I wanted something blue, and so I decided to use the blue polish by Shades of the season. Then I used Sally Hensen Ice Queen as a topcoat. Just a simple mani.

Thanks for viewing. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Till Later, God Bless.

Julep - Helena swatch. Plus, Get your first Julep Box for just a Penny!

Hello my loves.. The weekend is here, and I've got great news for you!

I received my Julep Box that I got for a penny! Apparently my last box wasn't the penny box, it was the January box I chose not to cancel.
Anyhoo, since I thought that the last box was my penny box, I was expecting my January box, but it never came, so I decided to call Julep's Customer service, and they were so kind to tell me that it was my penny box that got lost in the mail. The lady said she was sending me my penny box immediately, and I got it a couple of days after our convo.

Can I just say, I love this box more than my first! I like the polishes that come with my "It Girl" Profile.I would post pictures of all the polishes, but I am planning a post for my January haul/nail mails and will show you everything I got once I have everything in hand. I don't like bits and pieces of nail mail posts. So I have decided that I will do monthly nail hauls/nail mails at the end of each month, except it was a surprise or something way way important.

Ok, enough with the talking.. Today, I have a swatch of the beautiful Helena by Julep! My goodness, this polishes totally cures my lemming for Zoya's Charisma!

Helena is not a thick polish. She is a running liquid, but she was interestingly opaque in three thin coats. I advice you start with a thin coat and build opacity.
*I didn't use a topcoat for these swatches.

This beauty is hard to photograph. She's more of a purple than the near-pink you  see in these pictures. I did a quick google search and found out that I'm not the only one who thinks Helena  is hard to capture. She's a gorgeous purple however, and if you are like me, and want every purple polish you can get your hands on.... Helena is your go-to girl!

This next picture is very very close to what Helena looks like in real life. She's a hard one to photograph, but I don't mind that because this polish is beautiful in real life!

Helena is yet another polish that makes me ready for summer. Sheeeshhhh!!

Alright ladies, Now let's get to the second part of my title. How to get your first Julep box for a penny! Yep, you read that right!

Layering: Finger Paints Motley over O.P.I Light My Sapphire

Hello lovelies!

I have a flakie layering for you today. A couple of days ago, I was at Sallys and I picked up 3 of the finger paints special effect polishes (Twisted, Asylum and Motley). I didn't get all 5 because I already have Nubar 2010, Hits Lambada and I have Zoya Chloe and Maisie coming to me soon. Flashy looks a lot like Nubar 2010 and Flecked looks like Zoya's Maisie.

I'm sure you've seen many swatches of the Finger paints flakies over black. Indeed these flakies are better seen over black, but I didn't want to use black. I decided to settle for O.P.I - Light my sapphire. It's navy blue but has a hint of purple under bright light. I used 3 thin coats of Light my Sapphire and two coats of Motley  for these swatches.

I then decided to put my Essie - Matte about you to work, so I matte-fied the mani.

I actually like this better matte-fied. The flakies appear more pronounced and it seems a bit - what's the word -  "edgier" to me.

Here's Light my Sapphire alone.

A Video I took before I matte-fied it.

That's it for today ladies. Which look do you prefer? Glossy or matte? Do you own any of the Finger paints flakies? I'm excited to try Twisted.  She looks the most prettiest in the bottle.

Anyhoo, Till later my dearies. Weekend is here! Whoo hoo.. Take Care, God Bless.
